If you no longer can care for your hedgehog if you got it from me or from someone else I will take it at no cost to me, You will be responsible to bring him or her to me with their cage so the animal is comfortable here until I can find the hedgehog an approved home. I've gotten in a few already and they go to new homes with their supplies for a reduced price depending on the situation. I also will take any sugar glider, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, rats, chinchillas, just any furry animal. I also know people who would take feathered friends and some hoof stock. If you have something please just text me 402-720-3569 and I'll see what I can do. My mom has a nonprofit animal sanctuary (www.theoldpoorfarm.com), We have many connections to help you or point you in the right direction. All fees for these surrendered pets goes direction to the old poor farm and 100% of all funds goes directly to the animals care. No one gets paid or benefits from these animals. Please be cautious of sanctuaries and non profits, you would be shocked how much of your dollar actually goes towards the animals.

All my hedgehog babies are home raised and are handled daily by me. We want you to have a great experience with hedgehogs and strive to give friendly, healthy, and social babies. Our first hedgehog we bought was so unsocial and never came out of her "ball" was such a disappointment and would never wish that on anyone we bought her in 2010! We later found a home raised baby we named him Nemo in 2011. He was the best hedgehog ever! We were so happy with him we bought another a female and she was very friendly and social as well, we had a few litters and couldn't part with all the babies. I either had to get licensed or sell some of our babies so I decided to get licensed, we believe every baby needs a name and makes them part of our family and yours! I handle each baby every day to keep them well socialized. They are also used to all noises, I don't shelter our hedgehogs from household noises (kids, vacuums, music, barking dogs etc.) A lot of breeders keep their moms in quiet places which helps them not eat their young but also they tend to be more jumpy when they go to their new homes! I hold my babies from day one all my hedgehogs are very used to me and don't mind me taking a peek. I may not breed by most of the so called rules of hedgehog breeding by doing this but I know first imprints on babies is crucial to their socialization. I grew up rehabbing abused, neglecting and unwanted animals and have a gift and happy to use my gift to help you have a good experience bringing a new pet home to be part of your family. Most people cringe when they hear the word breeder, there is so many bad breeders out there please be cautious as hedgehogs are the new fad and people want to make the almighty buck. Most of the hedgehogs I get surrendered to me are not mine I would say 9 out 10, they either come from craigslist ad or someone having a litter or from other breeders in the area. I don't keep any of my hedgehogs past the age of 2yrs old. I find them approved homes. I do sell to pet stores from time to time and they are all treated the same and I screen them beforehand. I only want my babies to go into loving homes. I don't sell to many breeders as I don't like that they keep them for life and they never get a true home of their own, I don't believe it is fair. I hope you chose to make one of my babies part of your forever home :-)
