What is a mountain Coatimundi? It is a central American Raccoon. Native to the Andes Mountains of South America. These coati's can be quite the handful, but are very interactive and intelligent. These do best in a large enclosure but can be feasible if you give plenty of playtime outside their enclosure. Mountain Coatimundi's have a musky smell. They are also like a 2yr old toddler and get into about anything.
Diet: Mainly dry dog food, Iams is the best. They will eat anything but better choices are eggs, fruits(no fruit cores) Carrots, sweet potatoes, collard greens, Monkey biscuits, and live feeders and insects. Good rule of thumb is 50% protein, 47% fruit and 3% other veggie matter roots
If you live in city limits please check your city codes before even thinking about one. Most are raised and handled by USDA breeders and zoos. If you do not have these proper permits please provide a copy from your city or county of approval before inquiry about one.
